The first side to guarantee their place in the IPL 2024 finals was KKR, which defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in Qualifier 1 in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Following the game, the Indian Premier League’s official account posted a video of Shah Rukh Khan walking laps around the field, hugging KKR captain Shreyas Iyer and all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer, who lauded their co-owner as an inspiration, and thanking fans with his trademark pose.
According to Venkatesh Iyer, “It speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. He has always had an aura on film that mesmerizes people, but to us, he was more than simply a franchise owner—rather, he was like an older brother. He led us continuously.”
“His mere presence adds excitement to the team’s atmosphere, and the attitude and approach change automatically,” Shreyas Iyer went on to say. “I believe it’s a mindset,” he said, gesturing to his head. “You see, when the guys got on the field, they were all eager to contribute and finished their tasks on time.”
“I think his animated conversations uplifted not just me but people like Nitish Rana, who was struggling with injuries,” stated Venkatesh Iyer. Recovering from an injury and functioning well is a major undertaking. He’s a fantastic franchise owner, and I believe he’s here even though he can’t hear me.”
